Arva Daycare is an interior renovation of an existing church in London, Ontario. As a smaller city with a strong sense of community, the daycare plays an important role in the overall fabric of the built environment. Converting an existing church into a daycare introduced a unique set of challenges and opportunities. The needs of children and families attending the daycare needed to be met, while elements of the previous use as a church were maintained and celebrated.
With such, we understand the importance of the facility to local inhabitants, some of whom will use the space daily. With this project, it was our intent to create a functional and beautiful space that reflects the core values of child care practice.
